Lawrence Hammond – Presumed Lost

Hammond’s unheralded ‘60s Bay Area band Mad River blurred traditional American music with blazing psychedelic twin-guitars.
Now an unreleased, cautiously unconventional, 1977 solo album emerges, blinking. Only the nine minute West Texas Border Patrol builds on Mad River’s expansive blueprint, but the other songs are all tiny shiny country rock period pieces.
John Dere Tractor was an ‘80s hit for The Judds, who learned it from an associate of Hammond’s.
Hammond himself, now an Indian reservation medic, his music abandoned, heard it on the radio, but never looked back.

If you actually care about tolerance for all, even those who have different political opinons from you, he's about as funny as the credit crunch."

And yes, I got to know his act well during the rehearsals and Tech rehearsal.
