The Fallen Leaves – If Only We’d Known

Disappointed rock tourists, wandering Carnaby Street forty years too late unaware the beat had moved East, could still stumble into The Fallen Leaves’ 12 Bar Club residency and drink from the source.
The sharp-dressed quartet play the hook-heavy sixties sounds of The Who and The Pretty Things in the seventies punk style of The Jam or Subway Sect, for whom guitarist Rob Symmons once slashed strings, through the treble-heavy fuzz haze of Eighties DIY indie-pop.
If Only We’d Known is thirty-three minutes of genetically-engineered punk-pop perfection.

"I think describing himself as a comedian is the only funny thing the man has ever said. Don't bother telling me that I don't get it; I don't want it. It's only possible to like right-on, lefty comedians like Stuart Lee if you're a right-on lefty yourself. "I was Stage Manager for Stewart Lee. It wasn't performance art, stand up comedy or satire. It was a fucking train-wreck. That man could not read an audience 3 feet away. And yes, I got to know his act well during the rehearsals and Tech rehearsal. I also got to know the fact that the man is a functioning alcoholic, finishing nearly 12 cans to himself before going onstage, and that he is banned from the entire chain of theatres I used to work at for being rude, dismissive of staff and responding terribly to bad audience feedback.
