2002 S Lee appears alongside the comedian Richard Herring and Colin Baker as a Cyberman called Ryan Carey in REAL TIME, BBCi's online Doctor Who drama. It's come to this. Guest-starring in the production is Yee Jee Tso, who, ironically, appeared as Chang Lee in the Doctor Who TV movie. The show was recorded at Moat Studios, where free jazz types Derek Bailey, Ruins, Acid Mothers Temple etc have also recorded. Dr Who does not contain improvisatory elements. April 2002 S Lee directs a workshop of Keith Burstein's space opera THE FURTHERERS at Battersea Arts Centre. The pair are photographed in a bush by Gemma Day. |

Vortex Comedy Night
- Union Chapel, Compton Avenue, London, N1 2XD
"Having
met a property developer who wanted to buy Stoke Newington's
famous Vortex jazz club, and disliked him intensely, Stewart
Lee blackmailed a once in a lifetime line up of talent spanning
three decades of comedy into appearing at the Comedy For The
Vortex benefit, April 24th, Union Chapel, Islington. Profits
will go the Vortex Jazz Foundation, which aims to keep this
vital venue open and extend its activities to include community
music resources and a jazz archive."
